NBA Rumors: As NBA Free Agency is about to begin, we explore 10 marquee free agents that are most likely to sign with new teams.

The official start of the 2023-24 NBA season is nearly here. Or at least the start of the offseason that will lead into the 2023-24 season is here. And it’s one that could offer plenty of intrigue and entertainment over the next few weeks, leading to the start of the NBA’s Summer League.

Teams can begin speaking with free agents on June 30 at 6:00 p.m. ET but can’t officially sign said free agents until July 6. Either way, it’s time for the rumor mill to come to a stop and for actual player movement to take place.

Heading into the start of free agency, we explore and rank 10 marquee free agents that are most likely to sign with new teams this offseason.

(Note: We’ll use a “confidence meter” that will show how convicted I am in a free agent signing with a new team.)

10. Jerami Grant, Portland Trail Blazers (unrestricted)

I believe there’s a small chance that Jerami Grant ends up leaving the Portland Trail Blazers in free agency. But, at least in my opinion, the only way that happens is if Damian Lillard demands a trade before the start of free agency. Short of that happening, he’s likely going to come to an agreement with the Blazers shortly after the negotiation period begins.

What would be truly interesting is if Lillard ends up demanding a trade on like July 4 or 5; would the Blazers move forward with signing Grant on July 6 (when they can officially do so) or would they pull back their offer? It’s rare to see teams or players pivot from agreements but this could be one of those rare circumstances.

Either way, at this point and with all the information that we have, I’d say there’s only a 10 percent chance Grant ends up moving on from Portland this offseason.
