2. Kyle Kuzma, Washington Wizards (unrestricted)

With the Washington Wizards pivoting to a full-blown rebuild, it would be shocking if they elected to bring Kyle Kuzma back on a long-term deal. Kuzma is 27 years old and in the midst of his prime. He’s a player that would be better suited to a playoff team than a rebuilding one. At this point, with the moves that the Wizards have already made, I think both sides can pretty much see the writing on the wall.

Coming off one of the best seasons of his career thus far, the ideal situation this summer is for Kuzma to get his big payday and to sign with a team that can put him in the best situation to be successful. I don’t think the Wizards are that team right now.

All that said, there’s at least a 10 percent chance the Wizards end up using Kuzma and his potential deal to hit the salary floor for this season. And still, they could end up trading him at the NBA Trade Deadline or even next summer. It could be an option that could emerge for both the Wizards and Kuzma if his market ends up being relatively weak in free agency.
