New York Knicks

The New York Knicks almost have to be included on this list. Especially if the Knicks could pry James Harden away from the Philadelphia 76ers for a relatively cheap price. And for a one-year rental, considering that it’s unlikely for New York to land any other star, it could work for both sides. New York made huge strides as a team this past season and will be looking to take another step forward next year. Maybe Harden could help them take that step forward as a scoring guard that could help take some of the offensive pressure off of Jalen Brunson.

At least in my opinion, the Knicks’ interest will ultimately come down to the asking price. They’re not going to want to part ways with a huge amount of assets for a player that may not be a superstar talent anymore or for a player that can hit unrestricted free agency next summer.

All that said, the Knicks are an intriguing landing spot. They’re certainly a team to keep an eye on heading into the start of free agency. I’d imagine this is a story that can change on a dime at any given moment.
