NBA Rumors: As NBA Free Agency has entered its second wave, we explore the nine best free agents still available.
The first few hours of NBA Free Agency were the whirlwind that many were predicting. We saw many big deals get agreed upon quickly and a few of them managed to steal the headlines for the day.
A few of the bigger deals included Fred VanVleet signing a colossal deal with the Houston Rockets, Draymond Green re-upping with the Golden State Warriors, the Indiana Pacers making the big splash of signing Bruce Brown, Kyrie Irving sticking with the Dallas Mavericks, and the Los Angeles Lakers make a few of the most underrated moves centered around retaining Rui Hachimura.
With the first wave of NBA Free Agency in the books, we explore the eight best options that are still available on the open market.

8. Eric Gordon, unrestricted
Even though the Houston Rockets may have waited a year or two too long to trade Eric Gordon, it’s somewhat perplexing that he didn’t pan out during the latter portion of the season with the LA Clippers. LA needed to retool their backcourt and Gordon seemed like a sensible move. For one reason or another, Gordon never truly fit in LA and the Clippers, perhaps in a tax-saving move, decided to decline his team option for next season.
At 34 years old, though, Gordon could still be viewed as a valuable option for a team that is looking to add depth to the backcourt. During 22 games played with the Clippers (after he was traded to LA by the Rockets), Gordon averaged 11 points per game on 42 percent shooting from 3-point range.
Heading into the second wave of NBA Free Agency, it’s easy to see how Gordon could still make an impact on a playoff team. The big question surrounds what he would demand on the open market. That could ultimately keep him on the free-agent market for a while. Nevertheless, even at this point in his career, Gordon could still be a needle-moving player.
