NBA Trade Rumors: 2 Non-Heat teams that Damian Lillard should consider
Philadelphia 76ers
If this past season was any indication, one thing is clear – the Philadelphia 76ers are close to legitimately competing for an NBA Championship. They fell one game short against the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference semifinals (and actually blew a 3-2 series lead). And we know the Celtics lost in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Heat. The Sixers, for better or worse, are close to competing for a title.
Joel Embiid is playing the best basketball of his career, coming off an NBA MVP campaign, and even if the Sixers decide to trade James Harden, they will have an intriguing supporting cast around their dynamic duo – or could create one by moving other pieces. Are the Sixers a better landing spot than the Heat, probably not.
However, if Lillard is forced to find a team that is close to winning an NBA Title and one that could seemingly win one in the next couple of seasons, there’s no question that the Sixers would theoretically be on that list.
A Lillard-Embiid duo would be quite intriguing and could go a long way in the Eastern Conference.
