Oklahoma City Thunder

Naturally, the Oklahoma City Thunder are another team that could make some sense for Ben Simmons. The young and emerging team in the Western Conference may not want the possible distraction that Simmons could be, but the Thunder is another “low-profile” landing spot where Simmons could work his way back into form. Plus, with all the talent on the roster already, Simmons could come in and be the playmaker that could make everything click for the team.

Don’t get it twisted. I’m not saying that the Thunder needs Simmons to take the next step as a franchise but this team does lack a natural playmaker. Josh Giddey led the team in assists last season with 6.2. He is expected to take another step forward next season but perhaps Simmons could help take some of the playmaking pressure off of Giddey and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Being such a young team, after moving a few things around, Simmon’s two-year contract is likely something the Thunder could easily make room for. The big question about this possibility is whether or not they believe it would be a good – or worthy – fit.
