NBA Trade Rumors: 5 Teams that should take on Ben Simmons as a reclamation project

After landing the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, the outlook for the San Antonio Spurs has completely changed. This is a team that is expected to make a huge jump sooner rather than later, but it’s still going to take time for that to come to full fruition.

That could open the door to the team taking a chance on a reclamation project such as Ben Simmons.

I’m not sure how willing the Spurs would – or should- be in pairing Simmons with Victor Wembanyama but it could be an interesting experiment. And for a team that isn’t looking to make the jump to contention next season, perhaps the Spurs could eat Simmons’ salary while at the same time injecting some hope back into his career. If there’s any team that could make it work, it’s probably the Spurs.

If the Nets are involved at all in helping facilitate a Damian Lillard trade, you’d have to assume part of it could include Simmons being moved too. The question is, which team is willing to make that level of gamble?
