NBA Trade Rumors: Predicting a few potential teams that may be trying to acquire Pascal Siakam from the Toronto Raptors. 

The Toronto Raptors may in fact be up to something big after all. After a somewhat quieter start to the offseason than expected, the Raptors are moving on (whether it was their decision or not) from Fred VanVleet after he decided to sign with the Houston Rockets and could be angling to do the same with Pascal Siakam.

According to a recent report, there’s a very real possibility that Siakam is traded before the start of the regular season. Entering the final year of his contract with the Raptors, it wouldn’t be a complete surprise if Toronto decided to trade Siakam but it’s a move that would certainly send shockwaves throughout the rest of the Association.

The Toronto Raptors may be embracing a youth movement

If the reports are true that the Raptors are close (or even just open) to trading Siakam, it’s clear that they’re option to embrace a youth movement. Pivoting away from VanVleet and Siakam, the Raptors would now essentially be building around Scottie Barnes, OG Anunoby, and Jakob Poeltl. That’s not a bad path forward if that’s what the Raptors are indeed opting for.

Plus, depending on what the return would be for Siakam, the Raptors could also attempt to swing for another young star if they wanted.

Raptors aside, the bigger story may rely on who Siakam could be traded to. Assuming there’s at least a chance he gets traded over the next few weeks, we predict the three teams that make the most sense as potential landing spots for Siakam.
