It wouldn’t be all that surprising if we found out that the Brooklyn Nets were one of the teams in discussions to possibly acquire Pascal Siakam. The Nets did a great job in their pivot away from Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Instead of moving toward a rebuild after trading KD and Kyrie, they did well in acquiring talent that could help them remain competitive in the Eastern Conference. And they could be a Siakam move away from being one of the more intriguing teams heading into the 2023-24 season.

If nothing else, a trio of Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, and Siakam would offer quite the intrigue for the Nets. I’m not sure how far that trio is enough to compete for a championship but as Bridges and Johnson continue to grow as players, they could emerge as one o the most dangerous teams in the East.

The big reason why the Nets could emerge as a natural trade partner for the Raptors is the fact that they have plenty of appealing future first-round picks that they could offer in any deal for a star. If Toronto was looking for a boatload of picks in exchange for Siakam, Brooklyn would be a plausible trade partner.
