3. Warriors re-sign Draymond Green, keep the core intact

Heading into the offseason, there was no guarantee that the Golden State Warriors were going to keep the core together. In fact, there were whispers that Draymond Green was on his way out. However, once the Jordan Poole trade happened, all signs pointed to the Warriors re-signing Draymond. Still, it was something that we had to wait and see happen before making any type of assertions about this team’s future moving forward.

Once free agency opened and it was announced that the Warriors had locked up Draymond for the foreseeable future, it was pretty clear that the plan was to keep the core intact and to run in back for at least the next couple of seasons. The Warriors are hoping this core has a little bit more magic in them as they hope to add another title to their dynasty.

It’s no longer a mystery any longer; the Warriors are not going anywhere. This likely locks this core in for what will likely be the remainder of their careers. It may not feel like a big move but from an overall standpoint, it truly is.

Think of it this way; there’s a very good chance that Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond all retire as Warriors. That’s rare for an entire core to do.
