NBA: 5 Way-too-early Most Improved Player predictions for 2023-24

4. Keegan Murray, Sacramento Kings
Second-year sharpshooter Keegan Murray comes in at number four in the rankings. Murray had quite the rookie season with Sacramento, and he was even able to get meaningful playoff experience as a rookie. From the jump it has been pretty obvious that Keegan Murray’s game can help any NBA team, the Kings were just able to be lucky enough to select him with the fourth pick in the 2022 NBA draft.
Murray is a player with the tools to become an All-Star at some point in his career. I am not saying this will be next year, but it is only a matter of time before Murray emerges as a force on the offensive end. With a year of experience against the best basketball players in the world under his belt, Keegan Murray is due for an increase in scoring next season.
This is a young player who knows how to put the basketball through the net, and I am confident in saying Murray will continually find more ways to do so. Fox and Sabonis will be the main initiators on offense once again, so it will be hard for Murray to take the leap needed to have a huge improvement in numbers.
With that being said, Fox and Sabonis will attract even more attention defensively after the years they both had last season, so there will be plenty of opportunity and space for Murray to score. If he can start taking advantage of those opportunities early in the season, the scoring could come in loads for the youngster.
