NBA Trade Rumors: 3 Teams that should pursue S/T for PJ Washington
Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cleveland Cavaliers haven’t made many moves so far this offseason, with their biggest move of the summer being the signing (or sign and trade) of Max Strus. They could still use some help or depth in the frontcourt, especially if they end up moving Jarrett Allen at some point soon – that’s the rumor that has been whispered. If that’s at least on the table, perhaps a move for PJ Washington could make some sense for the Cavs.
Theoretically, Washington is a player that would fit alongside Evan Mobley. He’s also a player that could play off of the team’s dynamic offensive guards. He could emerge as a much cheaper option than Allen at this point and could help the team shave some salary off their books heading into the future – with the possibility of having to pay Donovan Mitchell in the near future.
It’s already been reported that the Cavs are interested in Washington and already making one sign-and-trade deal, I wouldn’t put it past Cleveland to at least explore the possibility of such a move.
