Hunter Tyson, Denver Nuggets
As a second-round pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, it seems as if the Denver Nuggets may have found another diamond in the rough in Hunter Tyson. Playing five years in college, the 23-year-old Tyson entered the NBA Summer League as one of the most experienced players. And that was pretty evident when watching him play. During the five games he played in, Tyson averaged 21 points and six rebounds on 54 percent shooting from the field and 50 percent shooting from 3-point range.
After losing a couple of rotation players from their NBA Finals team, it wouldn’t be all that surprising if Tyson had a legit shot to emerge as a real contributor for the Nuggets this season. And considering, with his experience, that he’s not your average rookie, it would make even more sense if Tyson was in the rotation for the Nuggets this season.
The 6-foot-8 wing showed enough in the summer league that should have many Nuggets fans intrigued by him heading into training camp. The Nuggets, who have emerged as one of the better developmental franchises in the league, may have hit on another second-round pick.
