NBA Trade Rumors: Breaking down a three-team Pascal Siakam trade idea that makes too much sense to not explore.

The Toronto Raptors are seemingly at a franchise crossroads this offseason. Their core has not really worked for whatever reason the last few years, Fred VanVleet just left in free agency, and then Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby both could enter free agency themselves next offseason.

On that note, the Raptors must also decide whether to give Siakam the max extension that he is asking for, knowing that they will have to pay Anunoby and Scottie Barnes soon.

With all of that being said, Siakam has been surrounded by trade rumors this offseason. While the initial posturing is that Siakam does not want to sign long-term somewhere else other than Toronto, there has still been a trade market for his services (although the extension might determine whether a deal gets done or not).

With Toronto potentially looking for a trade partner, enter in two other franchises who are both trying to reshape their rosters to take the next step behind their young superstars: the Atlanta Hawks and the Dallas Mavericks.

With both of those teams looking to remake their frontcourts to pair with their strong backcourts, there is a three-team trade that could work for both of those teams and the Raptors. The deal should help solve the needs of all three teams and should also work financially. Without any further ado.

Now that we have the trade, let’s look at it from each team’s perspective.
