NBA Trade Rumors: Exploring a few trade offers that the Miami Heat and Portland Trail Blazers should be willing to meet in the middle with for Damian Lillard.
Almost three weeks since Damian Lillard demanded a trade away from the Portland Trail Blazers (and to the Miami Heat), there has been little-to-no traction toward a deal. In fact, it was recently reported that the Heat and Blazers haven’t even had serious talks about a potential deal.
The hope is that will eventually change. However, if it is, the Heat and Blazers are going to have to be willing to compromise with each other. At least up until now, neither side has been willing to do so.
Would it be possible for the Heat and Blazers to meet in the middle?
If a deal is going to get done and if Lillard is going to get his way to Miami (which he wants), there’s going to have to be a meeting in the middle of sorts. The good news is that there are ways of getting there. In fact, let’s explore three fair trade frameworks that the Heat and Blazers should be able to meet in the middle when it comes to Lillard.
But first, a few logistics.
Here are the three goals of these hypothetical trade offers between the Heat and Blazers:
- Appease Damian Lillard.
- Make the Heat feel they’re not bidding against themselves.
- Make the Blazers feel as if they got fair value.
It may be hard to accomplish all three of these goals, but it’s become apparent that if a deal is going to get done between the Heat and Blazers, these have to be met. Let’s get to the theoretical ways the Heat and Blazers could get this Lillard trade over with.
