Teams that would have no interest in Damian Lillard

As we begin to look across the league to find potential non-Heat suitors for Lillard, let’s begin by crossing off a few teams. These are teams that are in the early stages of a rebuild and would have almost no interest in trading for Lillard, or Lillard would have no interest in playing for them due to their status as non-playoff contenders.

Here are the team we can already cross off as potential Lillard suitors: Washington Wizards, Orlando Magic, Charlotte Hornets, Detroit Pistons, Utah Jazz, Houston Rockets, and San Antonio Spurs. Those are seven teams that may have the assets that would appease the Blazers in a potential trade for Lillard, but Lillard would have no interest in playing for either of those teams.

Quite frankly, it would be pretty insulting if Blazers general manager Joe Cronin even considered any offer from any one of those teams. And really, neither one of those teams would even want to part ways with their valuable assets for a player that is nearing the end of his prime and that is on an insanely expensive contract.
