Taking a closer look at the best and worst moves that the Boston Celtics made during the 2023 NBA offseason.

Falling one game short of not only becoming the first team to come back from a 3-0 series deficit (in the Eastern Conference Finals) but also making the NBA Finals two years in a row will leave a sour taste in a team’s mouth. And certainly one for the front office. Heading into the offseason, it was almost an expectation that the Boston Celtics would try to make some additions to the roster in an attempt to get the team over the top of the championship mountain.

And that’s exactly what this front office did. In the end, as is almost always the case, there are believers and unbelievers after the Celtics’ offseason moves. They still may not be done altering the roster, but it’s safe to say that the Celtics are heading into the 2023-24 NBA season with pretty high expectations.

The Boston Celtics will head into the new season with high expectations

For the Celtics, this season will not be about making another deep run. It’s championship or bust for the Celtics. Especially with the win-now moves that the Celtics have made this offseason, anything short of winning the 2024 NBA Championship will be viewed as a failure.
