Best moves the Brooklyn Nets made during the 2023 offseason

After shifting the entire build at the NBA Trade Deadline, the Brooklyn Nets had some important housekeeping to do in order to keep things on track heading into the offseason. And they made some good moves to open the offseason.

Drafting three promising rookies

With two first-round picks and one second-round selection, the Nets took a gamble on three promising rookies. In the first round, the Nets selected Noah Clowney and Dariq Whitehead. In the second round, Brooklyn selected Jalen Wilson. While no one considers any of those players future stars, there’s a shot that one or a couple or even all of those prospects end up being contributors for the team down the line.

Re-signing Cameron Johnson

Additionally, signing Cameron Johnson was something that the Nets needed to do and they accomplished that without issue at the start of free agency. Johnson didn’t meet with any other teams and agreed to an extension with the Nets that keeps him around for the foreseeable future.
