Trade deadline candidate: Jonathan Kuminga 

Jonathan Kuminga could be preparing to have a breakout season but that may be difficult to pull off without playing a big role for the Golden State Warriors. Considering the Warriors just re-signed Draymond Green, I can’t imagine Kuminga is going to be able to carve out a meaningful role for the team this season. Maybe Kuminga is that good where the Warriors can’t help but give him a larger role but I have a hard time seeing that happen.

That means it would almost be surprising if the Warriors didn’t at least explore the possibility of trading Kuminga at the NBA Trade Deadline. Golden State tried to balance both sides of building for the future while also trying to maintain a win-now roster. It didn’t work out as well as the front office hoped.

Now it’s time for the Warriors to pick a side. And they did exactly that with the acquisition of Chris Paul and the re-signing of Draymond. Kuminga could be the next young player on the move after Golden State decided to move on from James Wiseman and Jordan Poole recently.
