Orlando Magic

Trade deadline candidate: Jonathan Isaac

As another young talented team on the rise, there will be a lot of eyeballs on the Orlando Magic. Led by Rookie of the Year winner Paolo Banchero, the Magic has a talented enough of a roster to make a serious run toward a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference this season. The question is, do they have the right combination of supporting players to get it done? One supporting player in question is Jonathan Isaac.

Isaac could already find himself on the outs in Orlando. But he’ll get a chance to prove his worth coming off a major injury, missing multiple seasons. I don’t know if Isaac can get back to his pre-injury form, but he will at least get the opportunity to do so. The difficult part for the Magic is that they already have an extremely talented frontcourt. Isaac would certainly add to it but he’s also no longer a player that the Magic need to have on their roster.

If Orlando does end up making a roster-shifting move at the NBA Trade Deadline, Isaac would be a natural candidate. Considering he’s an expiring contract after 2024-25, the price wouldn’t be that high either.
