The contracts that are on the books for the Lakers after 2023-24

Working under the assumption that LeBron James could very well be gone in the next 1-2 seasons, here are the contracts that are on the books for the Los Angeles Lakers beyond the 2023-24 season:

  • Anthony Davis (contract runs through 2027-28)
  • Rui Hachimura (contract runs through 2025-26)
  • Austin Reaves (contract runs through 2026-27)
  • Gabe Vincent (contract runs through 2025-26)
  • Jalen Hood-Schifino (contract runs through 2026-27)
  • Maxwell Lewis (contract runs through 2026-27)

* Of note: LeBron James, D’Angelo Russell, Jaxson Hayes, and Cam Reddish all have player options for 2024-25.

There is an outside chance that the Lakers could completely retool their roster around Anthony Davis, who recently signed a max extension with the team, and Austin Reaves. The Lakers would also have a strong core of other supporting cast players to help them move into the new chapter for the team.

For as good as AD is, and with all due respect to Reaves, the Lakers would need another star-level talent to compete at a high level in the Western Conference post-LeBron. With money to spend, and a few tradeable assets, the Lakers could have options heading into next summer or the summer of 2025.
