The Denver Nuggets’ worst offseason moves

Short of breaking apart the team’s core, there was almost nothing that the Denver Nuggets could’ve done this offseason to categorize this summer as disappointing. Nevertheless, because of financial circumstances, in large part due to the salary cap, there were a couple of unfortunate moves that needed to be made in Denver.

Losing Bruce Brown and Jeff Green in Free Agency

Part of Denver’s overwhelming success in the playoffs last season (en route to their first NBA Championship) was due to their depth. The Nuggets were the deepest team in the NBA and they were too much for teams at times. Naturally, losing Bruce Brown and Jeff Green (who both moved on in free agency) is going to hurt.

Ideally, the Nuggets are able to bring both of those players back as they attempt to repeat as champions. But we don’t live in an ideal world, unfortunately. In fairness, there wasn’t much the Nuggets could do about it.

With as much money as the team has tied up in their core four, the Nuggets were bound to lose some of its depth this offseason.
