Biggest offseason moves: Drafting Leonard Miller, signing Shake Milton, extended Anthony Edwards

It was a disappointing first season for Rudy Gobert with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Entering the season, there were many that believed the Wolves would finish as a top 4 or 5 team in the Western Conference standings. Even though they played better down the stretch, it’s hard to look at last season as anything other than a failure. Heading into the offseason, there wasn’t much the Wolves could do because of the lack of financial flexibility.

And their moves pretty much reflected that. The Wolves weren’t all that active and simply did a bit of housekeeping this summer. They locked up Anthony Edwards for the foreseeable future and he has now replaced Karl-Anthony Towns as the face of the franchise. Minnesota added to their point guard depth by signing Shake Milton and took a flier on an extremely talented prospect in Leonard Miller. The early returns of Miller from the NBA Summer League seem to point to a promising future.

Overall, it was a very averaging offseason for the Wolves. They didn’t drastically improve their roster and it’s difficult how they’re going to be better this upcoming season.
