Biggest offseason moves: Re-signed Caris LeVert, S&T for Max Strus
The Cleveland Cavaliers are coming off quite an up-and-down season. They were great in the regular season in year one with Donovan Mitchell and completely disappointing in the postseason. Ultimately, Cleveland ended up losing in five games to the New York Knicks in the first round of the playoffs. Heading into the offseason, it was clear that the Cavs needed to make improvements on the wing. They needed depth and shooting.
While their offseason decisions were somewhat polarizing, they managed to address both of those concerns this summer. The Cavs re-signed LeVert to preserve its depth and added Max Strus, who will likely start for the team, in large part due to his shooting prowess and playoff experience. Whether or not these moves will prove to be the right ones remains to be seen.
Nevertheless, you can’t fault the Cavs for trying. They are certainly better on paper heading into the season. The question is, are these moves enough for them to take a tangible step forward in the Eastern Conference this season?
