Orlando Magic
The Orlando Magic is another team that makes sense, in a vacuum, for Tyler Herro. Heading into the offseason, there was much talk about how the Magic were going to look to solidify their backcourt. With emerging stars in the frontcourt, with Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, you can make the argument that the Magic are a game-changing guard away from being a true player in the Eastern Conference.
In an attempt to find that game-changing guard, the Magic drafted two backcourt prospects in the NBA Draft. However, it would be unfair for the Magic to expect much production from Anthony Black or Jett Howard in their rookie seasons. That’s where a potential trade of Herro makes sense for Orlando.
He’d offer a veteran option for the Magic but is also young enough that he would grow alongside the team’s young core. Herro is also an underrated playmaker, which would help Orlando until Black is ready to take a bigger role for the team at the point guard position.
The Magic have the assets to get a deal done and could easily get to a place where they could absorb his contract.
