NBA Trade Rumors: Predicting the seven most likely stars to demand a trade next.
With the end of the 2023 NBA offseason on the horizon, it’s only natural to begin to think about the next possible cycle of transactions. You almost have to assume that Damian Lillard and James Harden will eventually be traded – before the season begins, in-season, or even at the NBA Trade Deadline.
However, what could await the NBA after this most recent cycle of star trades? In an attempt to predict that, we explore seven NBA stars that could end up demanding a trade next.
What seven NBA stars could demand a trade next?
7. Luka Doncic
It may seem a bit outlandish to think that Luka Doncic would demand a trade away from the Dallas Mavericks. However, I believe that there’s a possibility that this could end up happening if this current build doesn’t pan out as the team hopes it does. After going all-in on Kyrie Irving at the NBA Trade Deadline this past season, the Mavs didn’t improve as a team in the small sample size the team had during the latter half of the season. Dallas missed the playoffs entirely.
If that doesn’t change this season and the Mavs either have a poor showing in the postseason or miss the playoffs completely, it could make for an interesting offseason in Dallas. I don’t know if Luka would automatically demand a trade but it’s certainly something that would not be out of the question.
Luka still probably has a lot of trust in the front office, but after a couple of bad seasons in a row, that trust could begin to run out.
