NBA Trade Rumors: Predicting 7 least to most likely stars to demand a trade next
1. Joel Embiid, Philadelphia 76ers
It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to see Joel Embiid at the top of this list. With everything that the Philadelphia 76ers are going through with James Harden, the last thing they need is for Embiid to demand a trade. However, it’s quickly becoming clear that this could very well happen in the next calendar year. If the Sixers aren’t able to sell Embiid on the team’s future, it wouldn’t be surprising for him to hit the eject button and work toward finding his way to a fresh start for his career.
Coming off an MVP season, it would be quite the story if Embiid were to demand a trade anytime soon. However, at this point, you can make the argument that it’s probably in the best interest of both Embiid and the Sixers. Short of them making an unforeseen move in the next few months, the Sixers aren’t likely to be contenders this season.
Embiid may not be a perfect player but at this point in his career, he deserves to be playing for a team that has a shot to win the NBA title every season. That may not be the case this season or for the foreseeable future in Philadelphia. That could open the door for a trade demand from Embiid.
