NBA Rumors: Exploring six teams that could end up stealing Giannis Antetokounmpo away from the Milwaukee Bucks in a couple of seasons.

The Milwaukee Bucks have their eyes on winning their second NBA Championship with Giannis Antetokounmpo, but his future with the team is on uncertain ground. And he made that evident in a recent interview in which he said he essentially wants to be sold that the Bucks are going to surround him with a championship roster before he signs an extension with the team.

Naturally, it triggered questions about whether he would leave Milwaukee in the future. He has two guaranteed years left on his contract before he can opt-out and test free agency. If that were something to happen, which teams could realistically steal him away from the Bucks? We explore six way-too-early teams that make sense for Giannis if he were to leave Milwaukee.

Teams that should already be preparing a pursuit of Giannis Antetokounmpo

Miami Heat

It’s a tale as old as time; the Miami Heat pursuing the biggest free agent on the open market – even if they don’t have the clear-cut cap space to make it happen. However, with one of the better front offices in the league, it would be surprising if Giannis hit the open market and the Heat weren’t at least somewhat interested in a potential pursuit.

Even more so if the team ends up missing out on Damian Lillard, which all of a sudden is now a possibility. If Lillard doesn’t come through, the Heat will be looking to pivot toward their next superstar to pursue. And Giannis could very well be that player.
