NBA Mock Draft: 4 teams will get an early jump on tanking for the 2024 NBA Draft.

As much as the NBA may not like the idea of it, tanking has become a part of the game. It’s a tactic that rebuilding teams have used, some successfully and some not, in an attempt to collect assets and young players. For some, it has led back to contention. For others, it’s been a seemingly neverending cycle.

Nevertheless, it’s a natural first step for some teams that are now pivoting toward a rebuild. And heading into the 2023-24 NBA season, even with no Victor Wembanyama in the 2024 NBA Draft, there will still be a few players that teams could be looking at as worthy of tanking for.

Early names to keep an eye on heading into the 2024 NBA Draft season

At least for the moment, there are a few prospects to watch heading into the new NBA Draft season. Matas Buzelis is probably the player with the most upside, but Izan Almansa, Ron Holland, Justin Edwards, and Isaiah Collier are a few other names to keep an eye on.

With the start of the new season on the horizon, we explore four teams that are likely going to be at the head of the tanking trend to start the 2023-24 NBA season. There could be others that join the journey, but these four teams will be at the front of the line.
