11. Bradley Beal, Phoenix Suns
The early word out of the Phoenix Suns is that Bradley Beal is going to start the season out as the starting point guard for the team. Whether or not he ends the season in that position remains to be seen but it’s an experiment that the team almost has to try with as much talent as they have all over their roster. On paper, the Suns could have one of the best starting 5’s in NBA history. Now, Beal is a part of that at the 1.
It’s fair to question if Beal has enough playmaking ability to be a consistent point guard in the NBA but over the last few years, he’s become a better passer. Last season, in what was labeled as somewhat of a down year for him, Beal averaged 23 points, five assists, and four rebounds per game on 51 percent shooting from the field. Not bad for a “down” season. But that’s the level of talent that Beal is.
If he can make it work, I don’t think it’s outrageous to say that Beal would be in the conversation as one of the 10-best point guards in the league.
