The Milwaukee Bucks surprisingly entered the Bradley Beal sweepstakes
Somewhat surprisingly earlier this offseason, the Milwaukee Bucks were the other team that inquired about Bradley Beal after he asked to be traded. It was the Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, and the Bucks. In the end, Beal used the power of his no-trade clause to approve a deal to the Suns but the fact that the Bucks inquired, at the very least, was not insignificant. If nothing else, it gives us a clearer image of how aggressive the Bucks may end up being heading into the transaction season.
Milwaukee is probably a move away from being a favorite in the Eastern Conference. Even though the top of the East is in flux, the Bucks clearly see an opportunity. Essentially swapping out Jrue Holiday and draft capital (and perhaps a young player) for Damian Lillard, if it’s on the table, is something the Bucks should be willing to gamble on.
Especially considering that Giannis Antetokounmpo wants the front office to prove to him that they’re as all-in as he is in winning a championship.
I’m not sure if the Bucks have enough assets to pull off a deal for Lillard, but if the Miami Heat continue to screw around, you can’t blame the Bucks for trying to see if they can pry Lillard away from one of their bitter rivals.
