Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo would be the best duo in the East
The reason why I’d argue it’d make the most sense for the Milwaukee Bucks to explore a possible Damian Lillard trade is that a Lillard-Giannis duo would fit like a glove. Similar to how well Bam Adebayo or Joel Embiid would fit next to Lillard, Giannis would get a legit superstar running mate and his presence on the team would automatically make the Bucks the favorites in the East.
The Bucks are a couple of seasons removed from winning a title with their current core. But over the course of the last two postseason runs, there’s an argument to be made that this core has run its course. If that is indeed the case, it would make sense for the Bucks to be aggressive this season. And if Lillard is indeed available for the taking, the Bucks should try to take advantage of the weak market.
Even though the Bucks aren’t Lillard’s preferred landing spot, I’d have a hard time imagining that he wouldn’t be able to talk himself into playing next to arguably the best player in the league.
Maybe I’m wrong but I believe the Bucks would make a ton of sense for Lillard. The big question is whether they have enough assets to pull off a deal.
