Trade offer No. 3: RJ Barrett enters the negotiations

In this third offer, the New York Knicks begin to realize that they are likely going to have to include RJ Barrett to beat out other teams in their pursuit of Giannis Antetokounmpo. And if it ends up being an all-out bidding war, that very well may end up being the cast. But for how much Giannis could elevate the Knicks, New York should be willing to include Barrett in an offer. While there may not be many players the Knicks would be willing to trade Barrett for, Giannis is one of them.

In addition to Barrett, the Knicks would include a salary filler (Evan Fournier), and another young blooming talent in Quentin Grimes. Because of the inclusion of Barrett, instead of four future first-round picks, the Knicks would try and see if they could get away with offering just three future first-round picks. There’s no guarantee this would be enough for Milwaukee, but it’s certainly a strong offer.

Barrett is the exact type of player the Bucks would theoretically be looking for as a centerpiece of a Giannis return. He’s a player that Milwaukee can turn around and build around in a new era for the franchise.
