New York Knicks
As the Buddy Hield market begins to assemble, the New York Knicks are one team I would keep my eye on. Not only do they have plenty of assets to beat out any other potential offer, but he’s a player that makes a lot of sense for what they needed during their postseason run last year. And as the Knicks continue to wait for the right star to pursue via trade, Hield could work magically as somewhat of a stopgap option.
Hield could slide in as the shooting guard or even the small forward for a New York team that will be looking to take another step forward this season. Part of what doomed the Knicks last season was their inability to hit timely shots against the Miami Heat in the conference finals. Hield may not be the star that the Knicks covet at this point in their build, but Hield will hit shots.
Hield is one of the best and most consistent 3-point shooters in the league. Playing off the likes of Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle would only make him that much more valuable in such an off-ball role.
