New York Knicks: 3 Bold trade offers to land Zion Williamson as a final piece
The New York Knicks offer the superstar package for Zion Williamson
If the New York Knicks truly believed that Zion Williamson is the final piece of their championship puzzle, there’s no reason they should hold back on a possible pursuit of him. If New York genuinely believes that Zion would help this team win a title and that he’s the superstar that they’ve been hoarding all these assets for, it would make little sense not to cash in for a chance to win a title over the next few seasons.
Here’s what a superstar trade offer could look like from the Knicks: Julius Randle, Immanuel Quickly, Quentin Grimes, Mitchell Robinson, and five future first-round picks. New York could theoretically offer that to New Orleans in exchange for Zion and Jonas Valanciunas (to make the money work).
Who knows if that would be enough for the Pelicans to move on from Zion but there’d be a good chance that it would be. It’s hard to envision many teams not accepting that level of offer for any player in the league.
If the Knicks truly believe that Zion is the superstar they’ve been waiting for, perhaps the next 12 months is their window to try to pry him away from New Orleans.
