DeMar DeRozan, Chicago Bulls

If the New York Knicks wanted to make somewhat of a bigger move, there will be an opportunity to do that at some point before the NBA Trade Deadline. And one potential target that could arise over the next few months is DeMar DeRozan. Even though DeRozan and the Chicago Bulls have begun contract extension negotiations, it’s still far from a guarantee that he’ll be back with Chicago next season. Those questions could lead to the Bulls opening the door for a potential trade of DeRozan before the trade deadline.

DeRozan is entering the final year of his contract with the Bulls and with the uncertainty that revolves around Chicago’s future, a rebuild of the team is not completely out of the question. If DeRozan does end up moving on from the Bulls, the Knicks could emerge as a potential sensible landing spot.

DeRozan is a natural fit for the Knicks considering he could help take a lot of the offensive responsibility off the shoulders of Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle. If there’s any concern about the potential fit of DeRozan, it revolves around his lack of 3-point shooting ability. Then again, that has never truly stopped DeRozan from being a difference-maker in his career.
