Brooklyn Nets

Trade candidate: Royce O’Neal

The Brooklyn Nets currently have at least five forwards who will be getting heavy minutes. Royce O’Neal, on an expiring contract, may be the most likely of the bunch to get moved at some point this season.

The Nets struggled as a whole after trading both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving at the trade deadline last season. This may continue into this season in which case O’Neal could be viewed as a valuable asset for contenders across the league.

Charlotte Hornets

Trade candidate: Gordon Hayward

Gordon Hayward has seemingly been on the trade block for his entire tenure with the Charlotte Hornets, but this year might be the year he is moved. It can be assumed the Hornets do not plan on bringing him back this upcoming offseason.

His expiring contract can be valuable to a team trying to cut costs as well as freeing up more minutes for second-overall pick Brandon Miller among many other young prospects. Plus, Hayward is a player who could help a playoff-contending team.
