Breakout candidate: Collin Sexton

The Utah Jazz have a step up on some of the other rebuilding teams around the league and a big reason why is Lauri Markkanen, who emerged last season as a breakout All-Star performer. Will they have another one this season? There’s at least an outside chance that they do, and there’s one player that I believe can have a similar type of rise as Markkanen did last year – Collin Sexton.

Sexton is an interesting talent that has the potential to get back up to that level. But because of injury, he’s struggled to get back on track over the last couple of seasons. This could finally be the year where we see everything begin to click again for a now-healthy Sexton. If he’s given the minutes and opportunity, I believe Sexton could have a huge bounce-back season.

It’s unlikely that he’ll be an All-Star this season but there’s not really much that is stopping him from posting All-Star numbers for the Jazz this season. Sexton has the opportunity to have his second breakout season in the NBA in Utah this year.
