NBA Trade Rumors: The Philadelphia 76ers want to acquire an All-Star level guard once James Harden is traded. We explore a few possible targets.

Even though James Harden has made it clear that he doesn’t play on sitting out games once the regular season begins, all signs continue to point toward a trade at some point in the near future. Whenever the time does come for Harden to be traded, the Philadelphia 76ers aren’t expected to sit idly by and let a season go to waste.

According to a recent report, the Sixers’ master plan once Harden is moved is to pivot to target an All-Star-level guard with the assets that they receive in the deal. While that may be easier said than done, it’s clear that the Sixers general manager could have his hands full from now until the NBA Trade Deadline.

In an attempt to potentially salvage the season, we explore 12 All-Star-level guards that could fit on the Sixers if they do end up trading for one at some point before the trade deadline.

Alex Caruso, Chicago Bulls

If the Chicago Bulls get to a point where they’re ready to emerge as sellers at the NBA Trade Deadline, Alex Caruso could be one of the most highly sought-after players on the block. And with just one more season on his contract after this season, it wouldn’t be that outlandish for the Bulls to explore trading him if Chicago falls too far behind in the standings.

The Sixers could be an intriguing landing spot for the do-it-all guard. He may not be viewed as a “star” guard, but he’s certainly a player who makes winning plays. He would absolutely bolster the Sixers’ backcourt without Harden on the roster and would take some of the defensive pressure off of Tyrese Maxey.
