Seven NBA stars whose legacies can be completely changed, for the better or worse, heading into the 2023-24 season.
The official start of the 2023-24 NBA season is less than a week away. The new season gives new opportunities for stars to continue to write their legacies. For some, though, this year could be viewed as vital in solidifying themselves as historically great players.
With the start of the season on the horizon, we’ll explore seven players whose legacies may be on the line based on what they accomplish/don’t accomplish in 2023-24.
James Harden, Philadelphia 76ers/LA Clippers/???
Heading into the start of the season, there’s an argument to be made that there may not be a player with more on the line in terms of legacy than James Harden. The narrative surrounding Harden has gotten out of hand recently. His trade value is pretty much non-existent at the moment but considering how productive he’s been over the last few seasons, that’s pretty insane.
Harden is still a really good player at this point in his career but is still missing that elusive championship that would cement his legacy as an all-time great. Harden may not be able to win a championship this season, but there’s a lot of good he can do to repair his reputation if he keeps his head down and just plays basketball while staying out of the headlines.
