1. Boston Celtics

It’s hard not to look back at what the Boston Celtics did during the offseason and not consider them the favorites in the Eastern Conference. In fact, I would go on to say that they should be the overall favorites to win the NBA Championship. There may be some disagreement about going to that extent, but that’s how high of a ceiling I believe the Celtics will have this season. After the additions of Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis, the Celtics don’t have any weak spots in their starting 5.

If their depth can hold up, or if they can make another move to solidify the team’s bench before the NBA Trade Deadline, there are no visible weaknesses across their entire rotation. Boston may be the most complete team in the league right now and short of injury, there may not be much hope in stopping them.

There’s a very good chance that this is finally the year where it all comes together for the Celtics. You can make the argument that the only thing standing in the way of a Celtics championship run is themselves.
