As the season quickly approaches, we explore 14 controversial and bold predictions for the 2023-24 NBA season.

Following a chaotic and entertaining offseason, the start of the 2023-24 NBA regular season is just a few days away. While the offseason transaction period is often considered one of the most entertaining times of the NBA calendar, there’s an argument to be made that the start of the season is a close second.

It’s the time of the year when every team is encouraged and hopeful. The positivity surrounding every team at the start of the season is infectious. As the season is about to tip-off, let’s make a few predictions for the NBA year to come.

Bold predictions for the 2023-24 NBA season

Jordan Poole will have a huge bounce-back season

Jordan Poole had a disappointing close to last season and it at least partly resulted in the Golden State Warriors trading him this offseason. While he may not have been a good fit in Golden State, the fact hasn’t changed that he’s still one of the most offensively talented young players in the NBA. A fresh start and a change of scenery may be exactly what Poole needs at this point in his career.

In fact, I predict that Poole is going to have a big bounce-back season with the Wizards this season. He’s going to look like an All-Star-caliber guard once again and will have the best season of his career to date.

The big question is whether Poole is going to be considered a possible next face of the franchise for the Wizards. I’m not so sure what the answer to that question is right now, but Poole will make it at least a conversation.
