What’s the next move for the Miami Heat?

It doesn’t take an expert of any kind to admit that the Miami Heat completely whiffed this offseason. With two opportunities to land a possible final piece of a championship puzzle, the Heat missed on both Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal. Either one of those pieces would’ve been a huge boost to a team that has been close to winning a championship twice in the last four years. Heading into this season, it’s hard to be very optimistic about the Heat.

They’ll likely still be good but recovering from this offseason could prove to be as big as losing LeBron James during the summer of 2014. At some point, there has to be a pivot from the Heat. Whether it’s targeting another superstar or trading their assets to surround this core with more difference-making role players.

One of the bigger questions heading into the start of the season revolves around what may be ahead for the Heat. This is an organization that preaches championship or bust. Right now, the team is probably closer to bust than championship. Something has to change. I have to imagine that a move could be on the horizon for Miami. The question is, what will it look like?
