Clint Capela, Atlanta Hawks
Clint Capela is another name that not only makes sense for the Memphis Grizzlies but also for many other teams that have a need in the frontcourt. Especially considering it’s entirely impossible to predict what the Atlanta Hawks will end up doing when it comes to the construction of their team. Capela has two years remaining on his contract, including this year. This is about the time when the Hawks will begin to assess what the plan is for him moving forward.
Capela is still a high-quality player as he enters his age-29 season. Last year, he averaged 12 points and 11 rebounds on 65 percent shooting from the field. There could be concerns about his potential fit next to Jaren Jackson Jr. but I’d imagine that both players are good enough that it wouldn’t be that much of an issue.
But making the move for Capela could end up being costly for the Grizzlies. You’d have to imagine that this possibility likely hinges on how aggressive Memphis wants to be in replacing Adams and how much they trust their current depth in the frontcourt.
