4. New big three vs. Old big three – Suns vs. Warriors – Tuesday, October 24 @ 10:00 p.m. ET)
During the opening night, the other header includes the new and improved Phoenix Suns facing the remnants of a dynasty, the Golden State Warriors. The Suns are being led by three superstars in Kevin Durant (the sss is silent), Devin Booker, and the newest addition, Bradley Beal, while the Warriors are packed with the splash bros, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, new addition Chris Paul, Draymond Green, and other role players.
This game will feature the first look at the new Suns, as all of their three stars are available and listed to play their first game, while the Warriors are also healthy and ready. Last season, the Suns finished as the 4th best team in the West, with 45 wins and 37 losses, while the Warriors finished 6th, with a 44-38 record, which shows that these teams were evenly matched. This opening game presents their new and improved selves, showcasing their talents in a race for the biggest one – the championship. Both of these teams are considered to be contenders, the Suns are star-studded, while you can never count the Warriors out.
We might potentially witness Devin Booker make his most significant improvement yet, as he is considered the franchise’s cornerstone, to bring a title with his new teammates. On the other hand, the Warriors dominated the last decade, and even won a championship two seasons ago, showing their dominance yet again. Another chip would surely cement their status as one of the best dynasties in the history of the league, while Curry could potentially be regarded as the best point guard of all time. KD doesn’t want to slow down and is in the title chase yet again. Beal just wants to win, since his prime was being wasted in Washington.
So many questions and possibilities. Where to start? We start with this game, the opening night.
