1. The debut of all debuts – Spurs vs. Mavs (Wednesday, October 25 @ 9:30 p.m. ET)

This upcoming Wednesday we are going to witness one of the most hyped debuts in the history of all sports, with Victor Wembanyama playing his first official regular season game against Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks. He was the 1st overall pick in this year’s NBA draft and is expected to become a superstar. During the preseason we saw a glimpse of what he is capable of doing.

At 7-foot-4, “the demigod” can do everything that a 6-foot-1 guard can, and a 6-foot-11 center. He blocks impossible-to-block shots, has a smooth jumper, both in the mid-range and 3-point shot, he can dribble really well (even through the legs of opponents), finish well around the rim, and put almost anyone on a poster. We have never EVER seen a player of his caliber and potential before. Above everything, he seems nice, modest, and honest. What more could you want out of a player?

San Antonio has, unfortunately, been the worst team in the NBA for the last couple of seasons. They have a solid core, Keldon Johnson and Devin Vassel seem like they have great potential to contribute to a winning team. With Wembanyama, they will be eyeing to make the playoffs this season.

On the other side, Luka Doncic and Co. failed to make the playoffs last season. This is going to be Luka’s 6th season, the pressure is building for him to make some more noise in the playoffs. Along with Luka, Kyrie Irving is still searching for another championship after his historic win in 2016. Dallas has been plagued by bad luck, bad coaching, and underwhelming bench support. The hope is that they will make the playoffs, at least.

This is also a Texas derby, so it should be a fiery atmosphere, with fans of both teams attending the game and rooting for their favorite team. In their last 10 matchups, Dallas has won eight times, while San Antonio has won two times. Wemby will be looking to change that. Two former dynasties looking to get back on track. Who will turn out on top?
