NBA Trade Rumors: 5 Deadline suitors that could emerge for DeMar DeRozan

After an up-and-down start to the season, one thing has become abundantly clear for the Los Angeles Lakers – and it’s the fact that they desperately need another supporting star next to LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Austin Reaves has struggled through the first two games of the season thus far and there’s no guarantee that he’s going to make that leap that many are expecting him to make.

If he doesn’t, it would be smart for the Lakers to explore the trade market in an attempt to find another supporting star. DeMar DeRozan could be that player. The Lakers have been interested in DeRozan in the past and perhaps they could circle back to that idea if he hits the trade block before the deadline.

It wouldn’t be a huge risk with DeRozan being an expiring deal and he’d be a much-needed offensive threat next to an aging LeBron and an injury-prone AD. If the Lakers have a need to retool the roster at the deadline, DeRozan should be in the conversation.
