NBA: 11 Players and teams that have gotten off to frighteningly bad starts
Gabe Vincent, Los Angeles Lakers
During the offseason, one of the big offseason acquisitions made by the Los Angeles Lakers involved the move for Gabe Vincent. Prying him away from the Miami Heat in an attempt to solidify their point guard position ended up being one of their boldest moves of the summer. But through the first four games of the season, his impact hasn’t been what the Lakers were hoping for when they inked him to a free-agency deal.
In his first four games in the Purple and Gold, Vincent has averaged just six points and three assists on 39 percent shooting from the field and seven percent shooting from 3-point range. To say that he’s struggled this season would be a huge understatement. Vincent hasn’t looked comfortable at all with the Lakers and this could easily end up being a move that they end up regretting.
Of course, it’s early and it’s only been four games. A lot can change and the hope is that it does. But, at least for now, it’s pretty clear that the acquisition of Vincent hasn’t exactly gone according to plan.
