NBA: 11 Players and teams that have gotten off to frighteningly bad starts
Houston Rockets
The past three seasons have been incredibly rough for the Houston Rockets. They’ve won 17, 20, and 22 games respectively in each of the last three years. Through three games this season, the Rockets are 0-3. It hasn’t been a great start. Even less so considering this was a team that made big moves in free agency, signing Fred VanVleet and Dillon Brooks to big-money deals. So far, it hasn’t paid off in the winning column as perhaps they thought it would.
To add injury to insult, Jalen Green hasn’t made the jump in his individual game that perhaps some thought he would. He’s gotten off to a shaky start, averaging 18 points and five rebounds on 40 percent shooting from the field and 25 percent shooting from 3-point range. If the Rockets were going to take a big step forward this season, it was either going to be due to the influx of veteran talent or because of Green.
So far, neither has made a big enough impact for the Rockets to look like an improved team. Time will tell how this season ends for the Rockets, but their start hasn’t been ideal.
