Now that the Philadelphia 76ers have officially traded James Harden, the overwhelming expectation is that they’re going to be right back in the market in an attempt to find a difference-maker that could help them take another step forward as a contender in the Eastern Conference.
With added assets, Sixers general manager Daryl Morey will be on the prowl for another piece that could help boost the team’s chances. The NBA Trade Deadline could be the spot where we see him make the move. In anticipation, we explore a few trade deadline targets that could make sense for the Sixers.
Logical NBA Trade Deadline targets that could emerge for the Philadelphia 76ers
Jonathan Isaac, Orlando Magic
After losing P.J. Tucker in the James Harden deal, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Philadelphia 76ers explored the possibility of adding to the frontcourt. If the Sixers wanted to make a risky play, they could look to a player such as Jonathan Isaac as a worthy gamble. Isaac is not playing a big role with the Orlando Magic so far this season and would likely benefit from a change of scenery himself.
He would be an ideal fit next to Joel Embiid and would give the team an added developmental project that they could invest in over the next couple of seasons. The only issue that the Sixers could run into is his contract. He has one more year remaining on his contract after this season worth $17.4 million.
Depending on what Philadelphia may have up their sleeves for the offseason, a move for Isaac may or may not be in the cards.
